Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow....

We've been staying at our house in Bend, Oregon for the past few weeks.  As many of you know, my husband, Jerry's, theme song is "I am 16, going on 17...".  Well, last week he was skiing at Mt. Bachelor, going multi-miles-an-hour on one of the cruising runs, when all of a sudden he caught an edge and did a head-over-skis", very theatrical somersault.  His poles ended up buried 50' away.  His bindings were broken.  He looked like a pretzel!  So the ski patrol whisked him away to the hut where they discovered he'd gotten a hairline fracture of his clavicle (shoulder), a twisted ankle, torn calf muscles and "torqued" knee.  His left leg swelled up immensely and turned black (not black & blue, but black!) for about a week.  However, now that he's feeling better and had some PT, he's walking and using both arms pretty well.  The PT told him not to baby his arm or leg as movement will help him heel along with his exercises.  In the meantime, it's been a hugely record snow year there...just like here.  We've had about a foot a day.  Well, the PT didn't tell him to shovel snow...so I got to do that job!  I've never had to do it before and my praises to all the guys out there who have it as a gender requirement in bad weather!  I did it twice and went right out and bought a snow blower!!!  Well, now that Bend has gotten yet another 2' of snow, it's a lot more fun to go out and romp and play in!  I've included a pix of Bentley and myself in one of the heavy dumps we got overnight.  Stay warm and dry....we'll try to do the same.
