Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all my United colleagues and friends.
Every year for the last 11 years, Jerry (my husband/ret'd pilot), Lorrie Labranche, John Schaeffer (Lorrie's husband) and I have shared a wonderful tradition. We dress very casually and spend the day in downtown Seattle looking at and enjoying all the decorations and holiday cheer. We stop for a coffee and goodie mid afternoon at Dilatant's cafe in Westlake Center. We "shop for jewels" at Tiffany's. We watch the Santa and his munchkins in Nordstrom's Christmas window. We enjoy the lights and decorations. Then we go out for a really nice dinner. This year we ate at the Edgewater Hotel. There's no shopping, no hype, no dressing up... it'very low key. It's one of our favorite holiday events.
