Merry Christmas from Andie

It's that time of year again, when I'm thinking about all my Seattle friends and wishing I were there to go to a few luncheons!!
We have had a wierd year. Steve's mom fell last January and broke her femur. She is 87 and quite fraile so he went back to Calif. to help her out. The next thing we know, one of his sisters is trying to prove she has dementia and put her away, take over her assets, etc. Well, many doctors later, court appearances, and a huge attorney bill, the case was dropped because it was proved that Helen (mom) didn't have dementia. A little forgettful---yes-----fraile----yes----dementia----NO. The next thing I know, however, Helen can't be alone anymore so guess where she is living. You got it----with us, in our guest house. That came out of left field and now we're adjusting to being caregivers, and it's not easy. Thank goodness for our guesthouse! Obviolusly our life has changed for the time being and certainly cramps our travel plans. What will next year bring?? Stay tuned.
Other than that we are both well. We have alot of snow now and it is beautiful. Our Christmas will be a white one. Our work on Sedona is almost complete and we have renters in there until the end of April. We will spend the month of May there ourselves (with mom and cat of course) and finish up a new patio. Work on the Colorado house is going slow because Steve spent most of this past year in California. He will pick up after the holidays.
I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and hugs to all. Andie Katres
